The story of Frieda, a young girl growing up in strife-torn late 1960’s Derry, and her attempts to have a normal adolescence despite the violence which surrounds her.

The film explores tensions between the elements of community identity as Freda watches her Catholic mother get more deeply involved in political action while her Protestant father seems unable to meet his responsibilities to her.
