This was an album of rebel songs including Crossmaglen, The Bogside Man and The Freedom Fighter. Label: Folkways Records
Songs like these were performed in drinking clubs and republican social events and had a powerful bonding spirit. The writing of new rebel songs in the 1970s played an important role in connecting the troubles of that period back into the longer history of violent political dissent in Ireland.
