The banshee is a female spirit in Irish mythology, usually seen as an omen of death and a messenger from another world. In legend, a banshee is a fairy woman who begins to wail if someone is about to die. Banshee in a Belfast Toilet depicts an intoxicated man having a vision of a banshee swinging from the toilet light bulb. It is an image of impending death.
