A lone cow is stranded on an island with no way to escape. It is perched on the edge of the land mass that seems to be breaking away. Below a flag pole is twisted and bent.
Dermot Seymour has used the local terrain to create a feeling of unsteadiness and volatility. This painting is a representation of his anxiety regarding the state of Northern Ireland at the time of the Troubles.
