The Workers combines a number of different scenes that were typically observed during the Troubles. In the background a man be seen to be holding what appears to be a petrol bomb, aiming toward a row of shops. To the left of the piece a police officer holding a baton can be seen with a police dog by his feet. One of the most prominent figures is that of a man with a sign displaying a quote from the Bible. He is wearing a cap with a Union Jack.

The Workers provides an insight into the violence and aggression that was often experienced during the Troubles along with the high levels of surveillance that was maintained by the authorities. This was experienced on a daily basis by those that lived during the Troubles.
