“By 1970 the Troubles were already upon us; those turbulent times affected all of us here in the North and they naturally impacted on my paintings. My main concerns were for my family during that dark and violent time.
The Belfast landscape and its people were gloomily grey with occasional flashes of hope, which I translated into colour: Dark Lady and Bubbles”
