The Legend

This print is an exploration of the human history and ‘legend’ that surrounds the now closed Long Kesh/Maze Prison.

These images were created from the steel wall panels of “Freedom – Captivity?” The Legend image is a print of a security map of the Maze Prison. A second print (in red) on top of the map are handprints and fingerprints of families and children. Additional visual elements are ghost images of different keys scattered around the legend – a symbol that might offer the ability to unlock our own ‘personal prisons’.
